You may listen to music as you work during the numbers assessment. Times are approximate - don't get too bogged down in any one activity. When it becomes tedious, set it aside to do something else.
I. Read your book for ten minutes.
II. Write a narration about something that happened to you as a child. Please write this on paper; this will be a rough draft; please double space. Include the following information: (about 15 mins)
How old you were, where you lived and with whom
What you were like (at least three adjectives, a combination of physical and personality
What you used to like to do and with whom (at least two activities)
What happened to you
What happened next and how others responded (what did they do?)
How you were when the incident was over
This must be at least 12 sentences. Note that this will require you to use both the preterite and imperfect tenses.
Reminder: Do not use Google translate or any other online translator to create your narration. Use the language you can produce relatively easily. It is appropriate to look up words, not structures or whole sentences! A dictionary, is appropriate. When you need a verb look up the infinitive - do not look up the conjugated form; this often leads to unintended errors.
III. Look at the Vocabulario II worksheet (with soccer illustrations) to record the meanings of the vocabulary related to "fútbol". You should be able to deduce the meaning through the drawings. Then complete activities 16 - 17 to start working with this vocabulary. (15 mins)
IV. Learn more about the history of Mexico by reading and completing the packet which gives an overview of the history of Mexico. (20 mins)
V. Review direct and indirect object pronouns by watching the video. You learned about the pronouns in Spanish I, but have not used them on a consistent basis since then. Pay special attention to what the pronouns are, where they are placed and, toward the end of the video listen to what he says about "redundant" pronouns. Then practice the pronouns by completing the worksheet. (15 mins)
